A Cordial Introduction
Web Blog Earth Date 2025-05-13.
Dearest Readers,
Have you ever had a brilliant idea that bewilders you as to why you hadn't thought of it before?
Such was my thought process when I created this blog. I have loved writing since I discovered the beauty in it in Grade 5. Since then, my fondness for running my imagination wild with stories and ideas has never paused, and I have always dreamed of becoming a writer. Now, I am in University for Creative Writing. While many have doubts about my chances of any future job prospects, I have faith that I will find a path I love, and dedicate my time towards it.
This blog began in a strange way. In high school, I took an online course called "Writer's Craft." As much as I enjoyed it, I was not that motivated to do every activity they asked me to do. One activity was to create a blog on this website. Out of all the activities I didn't do, I decided to make this blog. I did not touch it for the rest of high school. Once I started University, and had been writing every day for my courses, I realized I would love a place to publish my work. There was no better place then to dust off this website and post here. It would be a wonderful way to see my progress over the next four years, as well as an easy way to share my work with friends and family.
I see this blog being a place where I post my polished work that I am most proud of, whether it be a short story, an article, a poem, or whatever else comes to mind. However, being able to reflect in a post like this, would also be beneficial. These reflections could be less edited and more personal to my readers. As of now, I have promoted my blog to very few people. I may post about it on Instagram, however, and try to get some support. If I didn't want people to read what I posted, I would have simply left my work in a folder on my laptop.
In terms of how often I post, I do not want to set up many expectations for myself. Writing takes time, and I want to produce quality over quantity. For now, I have a handful of ideas that need to be written, so I will have plenty to write about. Since it is summer, I also have loads of free time, so I do hope to post at least five times over the next four months.
If anyone does come across this introduction someday, please comment what types of content you would look forward to reading. I am thinking of telling my "writing origin story" about Grade 5, like mentioned previously, so please let me know if that would interest you.
Thank you, and God bless.
~Eva
